Kelly graduated from Greater Latrobe High School in 2008 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Instruction from Saint Vincent College in 2012. She currently holds PA Instructional I teaching certifications in early childhood and elementary education.
Shortly after graduating from Saint Vincent, Kelly became employed by Adelphoi Village as a Counselor at one of the organization’s secure treatment facilities in Latrobe. In this role, she mentored at-risk and delinquent youth through individual, group, and family counseling.
Kelly was later offered and accepted a position with the Greater Latrobe School District as a Classroom Assistant at Baggaley Elementary. From August 2014 through early 2016, she worked under the supervision of three reading specialists to administer diagnostic assessments and implement research-based reading interventions with small groups of students. She also served as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher in two third-grade classrooms for the last few months of the 2015-2016 school year.
Prior to becoming an Advocate Supervisor at CASA, Kelly held a District Director position with Evergreen Boys & Girls Clubs of Indiana County for about a year and a half. Here, she was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization’s afterschool and summer program at the Saltsburg location, as well as the hiring and management of staff.
Kelly currently resides in her hometown of Latrobe with her husband, James Jellison, Jr., and their two rescue dogs, Bear and Maxine. Some of her hobbies include reading, completing home improvement projects, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
