Melissa Burns graduated from Hempfield Area High School and then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Saint Vincent College in 2005. While at Saint Vincent College Melissa studied art and philosophy at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy in 2003. Melissa holds a PA teaching certificate in Art Education.
After college Melissa continued her career path in the education serving children in all areas of life. As a teacher, mentor, or aide Melissa continued to make a positive impact on many children’s lives over the years.
Prior to becoming an Advocate Supervisor at CASA, Melissa was the Family Support /Communication Assistant at Seton Hill Child Services, Inc. for three years. There she worked with the Head Start and Pre-K Counts programs for Westmoreland County. Over the years there she had the joy of working with many children and families enrolled in the programs.
Melissa loves spending time with her two amazing sons and her family. Her hobbies include painting, sketching and helping out her friends and family.
